​Manager of Development & Growth: Part-time

Kitchen Possible, a nonprofit committed to fostering empowered mindsets in kids through the transformative experiences of cooking, is searching for a dedicated Manager of Growth and Development to drive our mission forward!

About Kitchen Possible: 

Established in 2018, Kitchen Possible works to build empowered mindsets in children in some of Chicago’s most historically disinvested communities through free cooking lessons. We believe that cooking isn't just about delicious and wholesome food; it's about instilling confidence, resilience, a sense of possibility, and a make-it-happen attitude in young minds. Through a hands-on, mentorship model, our program teaches kids to step outside of their comfort zones and to approach challenges with creativity and determination.  

Role Overview: 

As the Manager of Growth and Development, you'll be instrumental in expanding our impact. Your focus will be on securing resources, forging partnerships, and broadening our reach to empower more children with invaluable life lessons through cooking experiences.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Devise and execute fundraising strategies, in collaboration with Founder and Manager of Operations, to support our mission and program expansion

  • Track and manage donations, inclusive of any required reporting

  • Support our Founder in cultivating strong relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners to secure funding

  • Lead grant prospecting and writing efforts, ensuring quality grant applications and corresponding reports are submitted in a timely manner

  • Establish meaningful connections with existing and new community center partners to broaden our impact

  • Collaborate with the team to foster deeper community engagement where we offer programming

 

Qualifications:

  • Two+ years of proven experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, and grant writing

  • Strong relationship-building skills with a track record of successful partnerships

  • Passionate about empowering children and fostering life skills through cooking experiences

  • Self-motivated, resourceful, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a remote work environment

  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

  • A make-it-happen attitude and willingness to move ahead when there’s no clear map

  • Must live in Chicago, IL

 

Benefits:

  • Flexible 20-hour workweek, remote work (10% work will be in-person, including site visits, fundraising events, etc)

  • Competitive compensation aligned with your skills and experience, $35-$40/hr
